Family fun in the sun

Families and friends join in the fun at the Cool Dad’s Foundation’s Family Fiesta Fun Walk at Germiston Lake.

Germiston Lake provided a picture-perfect backdrop for the Cool Dad’s Foundation’s Family Fiesta Fun Walk last Sunday.

The event was hosted to help raise funds for the organisation’s Big Brother Mentorship Programme, which focuses on mentoring young fathers and young men through workshops, camps and various other activities.

The group’s vision is to grow the programme into a nationally recognised network of fathers with a passion for fatherhood.

“We had a fun-filled day where families got together to enjoy a morning walk or run.

“Attendees then enjoyed a family picnic on the sun-kissed lawns of the Germiston Lake, where a number of DJ’s entertained the crowd,” said Bongani Luvalo, Cool Dad’s Foundation CEO.

“We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the stakeholders who made this event such a success and of course to all the participants who supported this event, we truly appreciate the support.”

The group hopes to host another event next year and has already begun planning in the hope of attracting an even bigger crowd.
