Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) have added another six brand new medical response vehicles worth about R1.800 000-million to their fleet.
These are in addition to the fleet which was launched on August 26.
The metro felt it was important to beef up resources to its emergency services, in order to put more stability and sustainability into their response to medical emergencies, especially with a busy festive season anticipated.
The metro is committed to the upliftment of matters which pertain to quality service delivery.
“Strengthening our resources will improve response time and more lives will be preserved,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for DEMS.
“After the finalisation of all relevant documents for these primary response vehicles (PRV), relevant paramedics from the three operational regions of the metro will equip them with medical equipment and immediately put them into operation.”
