Stolen vehicle tracked to Katlehong

Vehicle stolen in Germiston found abandoned in Katlehong by EMPD POPs members.

EMPD members recovered a Toyota Conquest stolen in Germiston in Katlehong recently.

GPS coordinates of the stolen Toyota Conquest supplied by a vehicle tracking company led the EMPD Public Order Policing (POP) Unit members to the vehicle in Dladla Street, in the Maphanga section of Katlehong.

“Immediately after receiving the information from the vehicle tracking company, the EMPD POPs members jumped into action and were able to locate the stolen vehicle found abandoned in Dladla Street,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“The dashboard was found stripped and the ignition tampered with.”

The recovered vehicle was towed by the EMPD to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for safe-keeping and further investigation.
