Local patroller cycles to make a difference
“Dizzy Dez” raises R26 000 by cycling the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge.
The Primrose Sector Three CPF is extremely proud of patroller Desiree Barnett (“Dizzy Dez”).
She completed the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge last Sunday in five hours and 45 minutes raising more than R26 000 which will be split equally between the Primrose Sector Three CPF and the Germiston SPCA.
Desiree completed the race in memory of her beloved greyhound – Blitz – who unfortunately passed away due to complications following an operation.
Blitz was a rescue dog from the SPCA who was named by the community who found him and was lovingly adopted by Desiree’s family.
The CPF thanks the Germiston SPCA, Desiree’s family and friends who supported her, trained her, stood by her and sponsored her, and the amazing community for digging so deeply into their pockets. There were no corporate sponsorships.
Inspired by Desiree, the Primrose Sector Three CPF hopes to enter an entire team to do it all again next year.
The CPF thanks Desiree for the wonderful fund-raising initiative she undertook and is thrilled with her achievement.
