Joining together to uplift the community

Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy welcomed donations towards their annual charity project from the Elsburg Muslim community.

Each year the Lambton-based Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy holds a collection for a deserving children’s home.

The Loerie Youth Centre was selected to receive this year’s donation.

The centre is a children’s home situated in Bronkhorstspruit that currently cares for 37 underprivileged children.

The children have been placed in the home as their parents can no longer provide a healthy and safe environment for them, for various reasons.

This year the Elsburg Muslim community joined the worthy cause, donating groceries to the collection.

“We are grateful for the opportunity and we are honoured to be a part of this wonderful project,” said Ismail Pandor.

“It is through initiatives like this that we are able to build a united community and uplift people from all walks of life no matter their race or culture.

“Tebbutt’s has been doing this project for many years and has laid a firm foundation for future initiatives.”

Kanchu Alex Tebbutt expressed his gratitude for the donations.

“We are so grateful to have people like this involved in our projects,” he said.

“This is an annual project for the dojo aimed at benefiting those in need.

“What we get into the dojo we put back into the community.”
