Stop-and-search operation leads to arrests

The Katlehong police, with the help of the EMPD, arrested nine suspects last Thursday.

Katlehong police arrested nine suspects for various crimes in their policing precinct, last Thursday.

The suspects were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit together with EMPD officers.

The accused were arrested for a number of different crimes, including driving under the influence of alcohol, intimidation, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of dagga.

All of the arrested suspects were taken to the Katlehong Police Station, where they were formally charged.

They have since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on various charges. Their cases were postponed.
