Glowing good time for Cubs

Local Scout group hosts special night-time adventure for Cubs.

The First Germiston Scout Group recently hosted over 40 Cubs from the Eland District for a Cub Night Adventure.

The adventure ranged over four bases, each with glow stick tasks such as looping and throwing glow sticks to retrieve balloons, making skipping ropes from glow sticks, ‘how low can you go’ with glow sticks, glow stick Twister and glow stick tenpin bowling.

The youngsters also enjoyed a ‘colour powder festival’ involving throwing colour powders into the air.

“Even moms and dads joined in, with the wonderful colours going all over their clothes,” said Bronwyn Lyndon for First Germiston Scout Group.

After all the outdoor fun, the children enjoyed a ‘lumo’ disco with UV lights and music in the hall.

“We even had bubbles and a smoke machine to add to the atmosphere,” said Bronwyn.

The First Germiston Cubs meet on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 7pm.
