Final exam with a difference

Edenglen High School matric learner Caitlin Sehannie recently completed her final Afrikaans exam while in hospital.

Matrics across the country began their final exams recently.

But for Caitlin Sehannie, a matric learner at Edenglen High School, things were a little different.

The Grade 12 student had to write her final Afrikaans paper, last Thursday, in a hospital bed at the Life Roseacres Hospital.

She was closely monitored by an inclusion specialist from the Department of Education’s Ekurhuleni North District, Lindeni Moloto.

Moloto specialises in assisting learners to write their exams when they are unable to attend school and was thrilled to help Sehannie.
