Germiston SAPS nab man after shooting

Germiston police apprehend man for shooting in a residential area.

While on a routine patrol in Germiston, last Wednesday, officers from the Germiston Police Station heard several gunshots.

“Police rushed in the direction from which they had heard the shots fired and spotted a BMW fleeing the scene,” explained Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

Officers gave chase and were able to get the driver of the vehicle to stop.

“While searching the vehicle and the driver, police found a firearm, which had recently been fired,” said Raphulu.

The 32-year-old man was arrested for shooting in a residential area.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.

“Police are investigating the incident further and the firearm has been booked in as evidence,” said Raphulu.
