Man arrested three times, under three different names

Police discover man has used three different names in three separate charges.

A 32-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police, last Sunday, for allegedly shoplifting at a local mall in Primrose.

“The incident was reported to the police by the store’s security guard who noticed the man acting suspiciously in the store.

“When the accused attempted to leave the store the complainant stopped him and asked to search him,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

During the search, the security officer found several items in the man’s possession.

“He was asked for his receipt which he was unable to supply,” said Maome.

Officers were called to the store and the man was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

During processing, officers discovered, with the help of their micro-connectivity device, that the man was wanted in connection with two other cases, one of theft and another of shoplifting.

“To the officers’ surprise, the accused had a different name in each case,” said Maome.

Police then had to establish his true identity.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where it was decided that he would remain in custody and face all three charges.
