Man chased and robbed in Primrose

One suspect apprehended for common robbery, police continue to search for second.

While walking from the Marathon informal settlement in Primrose recently, a man was allegedly robbed by two men, one of which he knew.

“The man told officers that he noticed the men following him and tried to run away,” said communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

The men, however, caught him and forced him to the ground and began to search his pockets.

“The men made off with two cellphones, valued at R3 000,” Maome said.

The victim immediately opened a case with the Primrose police, giving them the name of the suspect he recognised.
