World Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on October 5. This special day saw the hashtag #teachersday2017 trending on Twitter from the early hours of morning. The GCN encouraged the community to share their stories about special teachers who made a difference in their life.

• Heather Hattingh shared her story: “I had the most awesome lecturers in drama and Afrikaans/Nederlands. They inspired me to teach others to enjoy their educational journey with an open mind. I loved the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Pietermaritzburg Campus.”
