Katlehong police crack down on crime

Thirty-six suspects arrested in Katlehong for several different crimes.

Members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, together with detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, recently arrested 36 suspects in the Katlehong area.

The suspects were arrested for various offences.

Charges included:

• Rape: One

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: Two

• Common assault: Two

• Domestic violence: Two

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: Seven

• Theft: One

• Intimidation: One

• Possession of stolen property: One

• Possession of drugs: 20

All of the arrested suspects were taken to the Katlehong Police Station and later appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
