Police crackdown on drug use in Primrose

The Primrose police apprehended a 26-year-old woman for possession of drugs in Shamrock Road, Primrose.

While patrolling the streets of Primrose, last Wednesday, police noticed a woman behaving suspiciously in Shamrock Road.

“She became visibly tense when the approaching police asked to search her.

“During the search officers found a zip-lock bag containing a white substance that they believed was crystal methamphetamine,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station, where it was confirmed that the substance that was confiscated during the arrest was in fact crystal methamphetamine.

“During questioning the accused confirmed that she had been using the drug,” said Maome.

She will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
