CBD stop-and-search yields results

During a Germiston SAPS stop-and-search operation held in the Germiston CBD, recently, officers arrested a 35-year-old man after a vehicle jammer was found in his possession. “WO Godfrey Sehlangu and Const Nicodimas Moremi found the device in the man’s possession and it was tested,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

Child airlifted to hospital after Homestead accident

Netcare 911 responded to reports of a very serious pedestrian collision, involving a child, in the driveway of a residence off Barbara Road (M39) in the Homestead area, at approximately 6pm, recently. “Reports from the scene allege that the six-year-old boy was playing in a parked vehicle in the driveway and managed to release the park brake. The incident still needs to be investigated,” said Nick Dollman, media liaison for Netcare Limited.

Celebrating 50 years in style

Guests at Dinwiddie Primary School’s recent Mother and Daughter Tea Party, held at the school, were dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate. “This was one of the events held in celebration of the school’s 50th birthday. This event was aimed at celebrating the girls and their mothers, which tied in well with Women’s Month,” said the department head of guidance, Jennifer Kingsley.

Marlands residents warned of potential dangers

Officers from the Primrose Police Station and Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk members took to the streets of Sector One to raise awareness about crimes affecting the area. The team handed out over 350 safety tip pamphlets to the residents of Marlands, interacting with residents and educating them about the crimes of concern in the area.
