CBD stop-and-search yields results

Man found with vehicle jammer in Germiston SAPS stop-and-search operation.

During a Germiston SAPS stop-and-search operation held in the Germiston CBD, last Monday, officers arrested a 35-year-old man after a vehicle jammer was found in his possession.

“WO Godfrey Sehlangu and Const Nicodimas Moremi found the device in the man’s possession and it was tested,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

During testing it was discovered that the device could stop vehicles’ central locking systems and prevented vehicles’ doors from locking.

“The suspect was detained at the Germiston Police Station pending further investigation.

“This is the second crime of the same nature reported recently,” Raphulu said.
