Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly is collecting toiletries and non-perishable food and appeals to the community to donate items which will be used to make up Christmas hampers for 200 elderly members of the community.
The hampers will be handed over to the aged in December to tide them over the festive season when the centre will be closed.
Community members, local businesses and schools are urged to get involved in the project to help make life easier for the elderly.
For more information or to get involved contact Rest-a-While’s manager Trudy Carreira on 011 828 3059 or 082 366 4010.
