A 30-year-old man was recently arrested by the Katlehong police on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The arrest was made in the Khumalo Section of Katlehong after officers, who were conducting a stop-and-search operation in the area, received information about a stolen vehicle.
“Officers were led to the GWN bakkie, which was reported stolen in Alberton, by the vehicle’s tracker signal.

“When they found the vehicle the suspect was driving it; however, when he saw the police he stopped the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but the officers were much faster than he was and so he was cornered,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, corporate communications official for the Katlehong police.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Katlehong Police Station.
He has since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
