1. Have you seen these vehicles?

The Primrose police urge the community to take note of several vehicles which are believed to have been used in the commission of crimes in the area.

2. Reaction officer dies after Homestead petrol station attack

A security officer was recently shot during an armed robbery at a Homestead petrol station. After filling his vehicle with fuel, the 24/7 Security Services reaction officer went into the shop to get his log book signed. “As he was leaving he came face-to-face with three suspects entering the shop,” said Geoff Schapiro, the operations director for 24/7 Security Services.

3. Family, hospital welcome triple blessing

It was triple the joy for Dominique Ribeiro and Nicolaos Raftopoulos recently, when they were blessed with not one but three beautiful babies. The couple welcomed Ariana (at 4.52pm) and Tiago and Stefano (both at 4.53pm) Raftopoulos to the world at the Life Roseacres Hospital. A thrilled Dominique said the babies, who were born at 31 weeks, are all doing well.

4. Police auction to take place

Community members are invited to attend the auction of items at the Germiston Police Station. The auction will take place on August 31, with viewing from 8am to 11am, in the police station’s big hall situated on the corner of Long and Spilsbury streets in the Germiston CBD.

5. Last day to apply for Grants-in-Aid

The metro reminded all interested and deserving enterprises in Ekurhuleni to apply for municipal grants (Grants-in-Aid) – a fund established for community projects. Application forms have to be submitted to the Grants-in-Aid-Administrative Support Office situated at the Germiston Civic Centre, at the corner of Cross and Roses streets, in the Germiston CBD.
