Germiston youngster has talent

Germiston resident is ready to enter and take the entertainment industry by storm with his musical talents.

He is young, talented and ready to make his mark in the music industry.

His birth name is Thabang Mbela (16) but on stage he goes by the name ‘Lilkxdo Twice’.

Thabang is an aspiring hip hop rapper from Germiston CBD who has always had a passion for music.

“I initially wanted to be a singer from a young age but I auditioned for Idols last year and was told that I am too young,” said Thabang.

“I then decided to express my passion for music through rap and I fell in love with it.

“I am glad I decided to do rap because I enjoy it.”

Thabang has been a rap artist for a year and has already managed to release an Extended Play (EP).

“I released my EP titled ‘I am coming through’ in March this year and it performed well,” said Thabang.

“I featured Moolanair and Judy on it. The success of the EP encouraged me to keep producing more material which saw me release my first single ‘Blow’. The single sounded better than the EP as the lyrics, vocabulary and my flow was far better than the EP.”

The youngster recently recorded his first album ‘Finesse’ and hopes to release it in November.

“I am excited about my album and can’t wait to release it,” said Thabang.

“I am already working on another single where I will feature Miclox and Sibu and it will be produced by Moett.”

The Germiston High Grade 10 student has already received stage time in his young rap career.

“The response I received when I performed at Morningside in Sandton was amazing,” said Thabang.

“I also performed with Miclox at the Sports Lounge in Germiston.

“People really appreciate and love my music and I want to make my music known to the country and the world.”

Thabang said one can expect to hear him singing in some of his songs.

“I combine singing and rap in some of my songs and that is one of the things that set me apart from other artists,” said Thabang.

“My songs are mainly about my life, the society around me and the different types of people we come across in life.

“I might be young but I will push until I get what I want and that is being one of the influential and successful artists in South Africa.

“That is also my advice to youngsters – never give up on their dreams.

“In all things, I put God first in my life.”

Thabang also said shooting music videos are among his plans for the remainder of the year.
