The Ekurhuleni West Cluster Task Team recently recovered two hijacked vehicles in Katlehong.

The Volkswagen and Dodge, which were reportedly hijacked in Alberton and Booysens respectively, were discovered at a house in Moleleki Extention Two.

“Officers were in the area following a lead when they discovered the Volkswagen at a house in Moleleki.

“While investigating, two occupants in the Dodge arrived,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, the corporate communications officer for the Katlehong police.

When the driver of the vehicle saw the police he allegedly sprung from the vehicle and disappeared on foot.

A 23-year-old woman was left inside the vehicle.

She was arrested and charged with the possession of a hijacked motor vehicle. She is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

“Officers are still searching for the suspect who fled the scene,” said Ndobe.
