Elandsvallei seniors are blessed

Elderly receive donations in the spirit of Mandela.

The Shoprite Furniture Division surprised the residents of Elandsvallei Home for the Aged, last Thursday, with lunch, music and donations.

Simone Haynes (left) and Nazeer Saffidien were very busy extending the veggie garden and planting veggies.

The group donated a Jojo tank to the home, furniture, a television, flowers and vegetables for the home’s veggie garden.

The elderly were treated to some music from the Shoprite Furniture Division’s choir.

The employees spent time planting and pruning in the garden, as well as chatting to the elderly residents.

They also provided a special lunch for the residents and gave each resident a homemade “blessing” blanket.
