Men nabbed with suspected stolen diesel in Rondebult South

Three men were arrested on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

While conducting stop-and-searches in Boundary Road, Rondebult South, last Friday, at 10.50pm, members of the Elsburg SAPS noticed three men offloading containers from a bakkie.

The officers approached them and asked them for the receipt for the purchase of the diesel which was in the containers.

“The men could not produce a receipt, and the officers arrested them on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

The men, aged 27, 30 and 50, respectively, were detained at the Elsburg Police Station pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
