Truck driver slightly injured when truck overturns on M2 in Germiston

An overturned truck caused huge traffic congestion on the M2 West on Thursday morning.

The driver of a white Freightliner articulated motor vehicle (truck) transporting frozen food, lost control and overturned at 3am on Thursday morning.

The incident happened on the M2 West highway, near the Geldenhuys interchange.

The male driver, in his 40s, was taken to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital for medical treatment, due to the slight injuries sustained in the accident.

The flow of traffic was heavily affected until the salvage of the vehicle was completed at 9:50am.

The EMPD Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.
