Man allegedly beats man to death during Sunriseview tavern brawl.

Detectives from the Katlehong Police Station recently arrested a 33-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted and killed a man in a Sunriseview tavern fight.

It is reported that the incident occurred on June 2 when the two men began fighting after an argument.

“It is still unknown why the men began arguing, however, during the physical altercation the accused allegedly kicked the victim repeatedly in the upper body and head.

“It is claimed that the victim was knocked unconscious during the assault and was bleeding from his ears,” said corporate communication official for Katlehong police Capt Mega Ndobe.

He was taken to hospital where he died a few days later due to the seriousness of his injuries.

A case of murder was opened at the Katlehong Police Station.

Officers traced the accused and he was arrested and charged with murder.

He was held at the Katlehong Police Station pending his appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

“Police are still investigating the crime,” said Ndobe.
