During a recent stop-and-search operation in Katlehong 12 suspects were arrested.
The operation was held by members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.
Charges included:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2
- Possession of dagga: 3
- Rape: 1
- Robbery: 1
- Malicious damage to property: 1
- Theft: 1
- Shoplifting: 1
- Drinking liquor in public: 1
- Warrant of arrest: 1
All of the suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
Police plan to continue stop-and-searches in an effort to curb crime in the area.
