Youth urged to enter Hackathon

Competition to promote young software designers and developers.

The metro is calling upon young people between the ages of 14 and 35 years old to apply for participation in this year’s Ninja Hacks Hackathon Competition.

The competition is set to take place from June 28 to 30 at the Alberton Civic Centre.

Entry is open to people with the ability to design and develop software projects that will be used to develop a youth portal for the metro’s youth directorate.

Applicants must be residents of Ekurhuleni and proof of residence must accompany your application.

Those living with their parents, relatives or siblings should submit proof of residence along with an affidavit confirming such a status.

The candidates must have skills in web design, database, preferably SQL or MySQL, and web application development, preferably PHP and NET.

Application forms are available on www.hackathon.ekurhuleni.gov.za.

Hurry and book your spot as space is limited to the first 250 applicants.
