Local racer offers reward for return of motorcycle

Help Peter de la Rey recover his stolen motorcycle.

Malvern East resident and local superbike racer Peter de la Rey needs the community’s help.

On June 3 at about 1am, his 2015 BMW 1200 GS was stolen from his property.

The motorcycle is white and silver and the registration number is DW 58 DG GP.

De la Ray told the GCN his CCTV cameras captured footage of five thieves lifting the first gate on the property off its rails and then proceeding to break the padlock on a second gate, at his Senator Road home.

“I had woken up and was walking about inside the house a bit earlier and they must have heard me and been scared off,” said de la Ray.

“However, about 20 minutes later they returned and stole my motorcycle by breaking the steering lock.”

The motorcycle was only bought seven weeks ago and de la Rey is offering a reward for information which leads to its recovery.

The matter has been reported to the Primrose SAPS.

If you have any information, contact de la Rey on 083 519 7920.
