Foot-patrol operation yields results

Primrose police continue to fight against substance abuse.

The Primrose police arrested five suspects, aged between 23 and 46 years, on charges of possession of drugs.

The arrests were made during the police’s foot-patrol operation held last Tuesday in various informal settlements, in Primrose.

All suspects arrested were detained at the Primrose Police Station.

“We are still faced with the problem of substance abuse in our precinct and we will continue to arrest all law-breakers in our area,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Substance abuse leads to domestic violence, murder, common assault and robberies among other things.”

Some of the suspects paid admission of guilt fines and were released on a warning.

Other suspects will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
