Five nabbed for drug possession

Police attempt to crack down on substance abuse in Primrose.

During a police operation in Primrose on Sunday, May 21, the Primrose police arrested five suspects for possession of drugs.

“The operation was held as part of the station’s on-going battle against substance abuse in our precinct.

Drugs seized by the Primrose police during the arrest of five suspects.

“We will continue to conduct similar operations throughout Primrose,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Police believe that substance abuse can be linked to other crimes in the area, such as domestic violence, murder, child neglect, robberies and assaults.

“It is our hope that by eradicating substance abuse we will see a drastic drop in related crimes,” said Maome.

The men, aged between 18 and 33 years old, were taken to the Primrose Police Station, where they each paid an admission of guilt fine and were released on a warning.
