Police address crime issues in Primrose East

House break-ins and vehicle theft increase in Primrose East, according to Primrose police.

Raising awareness about crime in Primrose remains a top priority for the Primrose police and Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk.

Recently police have noted a rise in house break-ins and theft of motor vehicles in the Primrose East area.

Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk member Mahlatse Maphafo places a safety tip pamphlet in a Primrose East home’s mail box.

To try and tackle the problem and sensitise the community, members of the youth desk, with the help of officers from the Primrose Police Station, visited the area to share safety tips with residents.

During the visit over 300 safety tips pamphlets were distributed to community members.

Moipone Mohloai (left) and Sinoyolo Thethi, members of the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk, were part of a team that handed out safety tip pamphlets in Primrose East recently.

“Police and members of the youth desk also interacted with residents warning them about the top crimes taking place in the area.

“We hope our community will take them into consideration and that the tips will help in their time of need,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Similar operations will be held in the future in the hope of bringing an end to crime in the area.
