Mayor welcomes Brazilian Foreign Minister to pay tribute to O R Tambo today

Wreath laying ceremony to honour O R Tambo today.

Ekurhuleni’s executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Masina and the Brazilian Foreign Minister, Honorable Aloysio Nunes Ferreira Filho will lead a wreath laying ceremony at O R and Adelaide Tambo’s gravesite on Monday, May 15.

This is part of a series of planned events to commemorate the centenary year of struggle hero O R Tambo.

President Jacob Zuma declared 2017 as a centenary year in honour of Tambo.

Tambo would have turned 100 years old this year.

The event will take place at 2pm at the Tamboville Cemetery in Wattville, Benoni.
