Police nab two for drug possession

Police arrest two men for drug possession, in Primrose, in two separate incidents.

Drugs continue to be a problem in Primrose according to the Primrose police.

In an effort to address the issue officers patrol the streets and recently arrested two men for drug possession, in separate incidents.

The first was a 39-year-old man who was arrested in Rietfontein Road.

He was arrested after officers noticed him and three other men behaving suspiciously.

“They searched the men and found a zip-lock bag containing a white substance, believed to be drugs, in the suspect’s possession,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

He was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

In the second incident, a 33-year-old man was arrested in Oak Avenue after police received a complaint about a couple smoking nyaope.

“When officers arrived at the address they found the accused lying on a bed and asked to search him.

“During the search officers found a white zip-lock bag containing dagga and another substance, believed to be drugs,” said Maome.

He was also arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.

Both men will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
