Community flocks to Germiston SPCA fund-raiser

The Germiston SPCA hosted a fun-filled Easter fundraiser last Saturday, and were thrilled with the community’s support.

Excitement and the sound of laughter were in the air at the Germiston SPCA in Junction Road last Saturday as young and old searched for Easter eggs.

The event aimed to give adults and children a fun-filled afternoon while raising much-needed funds for the SPCA, which will allow it to keep its doors open.

The Easter egg hunt was just one of the fun-filled activities on the day and the community flooded in to the event to show their support.

Other highlights of the day included a tea and beer garden, an assortment of food stalls, face painting and a magician.

All of the SPCA’s committee members were involved with the planning and running of the day and thanked Top Security and Mamba Security for the use of their jumping castles and for providing excellent security at the event.

The successful fund-raiser raised R15 780, which will be used towards the continued running of the branch.
