Scouts spread some Easter cheer

A team from the First Germiston Scouts and One Small Act of Kindness travelled across Germiston last Saturday to hand out Easter treats at several worthy organisations.

While many Germiston residents were enjoying time at home, last Saturday, a team from the First Germiston Scouts and One Small Act of Kindness were busy spreading some Easter cheer.

“We were approached by Kelly-Anne van der Meer, from One Small Act of Kindness, an organisation that collects and distributes much-needed items to those in need,” explained Candice Schulz, on behalf of the First Germiston Scouts.

“She asked if we would be interested in helping the group to distribute Easter eggs to a few extraordinary and worthy organisations in our area, and we were more than happy to get involved.”

The group, made up of Dimakatso Ramosedi, Nhlamulo Ramosedi, Neo Williams, Rhoane Bekker, Gerhard Bekker, Christoph Bekker, Keagan Bowler, Sharon Nel, Monique Price, Anita Boshoff, Derryn Taylor, Clayton Warren and Candice visited SAVF Die Anker, Sasonah Lodge, El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies, the Avril Elizabeth Home and Ithembelihle Lsen School handing out Easter eggs at each.

“It was a whirlwind tour but a lovely day spent with some of Germiston’s most wonderful people,” said Candice.
