Healthy living in the spotlight

Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly hosted a successful health morning, with the help of Ackermans Pharmacy and the Gauteng Cornea Eye Bank.

Health and well-being were put in the spotlight at Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly, recently, with an interactive health morning.

The morning saw both Ackermans Pharmacy and Gauteng Cornea Eye Bank representatives visiting the centre to talk to the members about their health and the importance of regular check-ups.

Care workers and sisters from Ackermans Pharmacy checked members’ blood pressure and blood sugar, and administered flu injections, ahead of winter.

The event was ended with a presentation by the Gauteng Cornea Eye Bank, explaining how organ donations work and the importance of organ donation.
