Busy Easter weekend for Katlehong police

Katlehong police arrest 33 suspects through successful operations.

It was a busy Easter weekend for the Katlehong police, with the arrest of 33 suspects.

The suspects were arrested for various offences, during stop-and-search operation “Paseka” which was conducted by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit and the EMPD.

The accused were charged with crimes including assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, child neglect, rape, dealing in dagga, drinking liquor in public, possession of an unlicensed firearm, robbery, possession of drugs (dagga and nyaope) and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
