Early Easter at SAVF Kinross Herberg

Elderly at SAVF Kinross Herberg were treated to an early Easter celebration.

The elderly at SAVF Kinross Herberg got into the spirit of Easter on Wednesday when Shoprite Golden Walk visited their home.

The store donated delicious treats for the residents to enjoy.

“The store contacted me and asked if they could spoil us for Easter, just before the Easter weekend,” said the home’s manager, Nella Siebert.

“They spoiled us with hot cross buns, juice, cakes and crisps, among other things.”

The manager at Shoprite Golden Walk, Frank Filipe, said they are happy to donate to the home.

“This is the organisation’s good gesture for every Easter and Christmas,” said Filipe.

“We don’t only donate to old age homes but to children’s homes as well.”

Siebert said they welcomed the donation with warm hearts.

“It is a delightful pleasure that the community doesn’t forget the elderly in Germiston,” said Siebert.

“We are happy to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.”
