Top tips for running a successful guest house

A guest house is not an easy business to run.

You need to ensure people feel comfortable and get that “home away from home” experience.

The GCN spoke to a local guest house owner and found out her top five tips for running a successful guest house.

1. It is extremely important to have a good relationship with travel agents.

2. Your premises must be spotlessly clean at all times.

3. Food must be tasty, well presented, fresh and well prepared.

4. You must provide a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere.

5. The owner should be involved in every aspect of the business and should not leave everything up to their manager to take care of.
