A chemical leak at Interwaste Environmental Solutions, in Power Street, Germiston, left numerous people injured, last Monday morning. “A tipper bin filled with chlorine had a chemical reaction which resulted in a vapour release. Firefighters from the Germiston and Boksburg fire stations arrived on scene and found that some of the factory workers had inhaled the chemical fumes,” said the station manager at Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), Daine Jones.
