Man to spend 15 years in prison for murder

Investigating officer commended for his hard work, which helped secured murderer's conviction.

After being arrested in the Sakhile informal settlement in Katlehong, in 2015 for the murder of a 29-year-old man, Mchazaleni Sithole (27) has been found guilty in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

It was reported that Sithole stabbed the deceased to death during an altercation over a woman.

He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the crime.

Sgt Sibongile Sibuyi, from the Katlehong Police Station, who was the lead investigator on the case was commended for conducting a swift and thorough preliminary investigation which lead to Sithole’s arrest only hours after the murder.

He was further complimented on his hard work and dedication leading up to the conviction.

“Job well done Sibuyi,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.
