Police track down man in connection with December robbery

Man who allegedly stole R15 000 in December 2016 has been arrested by the Katlehong police.

A 34-year-old man was recently arrested in Moleleki Extension Two by the Katlehong police in connection with an armed robbery in December, last year.

It is alleged that the man robbed a 20-year-old man at gun-point as he left his home.

“The accused was one of two men who made off with R15 000 in cash which the victim had in a bag,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.

The men made their escape in a white Volkswagen Golf.

“Katlehong detectives recently received information on the whereabouts of one of the men,” said Ndobe.

Police were able to find the man driving the same Golf used during the robbery.

He was arrested and appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on a charge of armed robbery.

“Officers are still searching for the second man allegedly involved in the crime,” said Ndobe.
