After returning home from a family visit, recently, a Turnhout Avenue husband and wife began to argue.
“The victim claims her husband accused her of disrespecting him, before he allegedly began to beat her with a beer bottle,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The Primrose police were called to the scene and the 45-year-old husband was arrested.
“We are appealing to the community to seek help when their relationships hit rocky patches and not act out violently,” said Maome.
The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, on a domestic violence charge.
The case has since been postponed for plea and trial.
