Man sustains serious injuries in robbery

A man was allegedly attacked and robbed by his friend while they walked from the Germiston CBD to the Makause informal settlement.

While walking from the Germiston CBD to the Makause informal settlement recently, a man was allegedly assaulted and robbed by his 33-year-old friend.

“The victim told police that they were walking when suddenly, without provocation, his friend attacked him,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The man claimed that he was kicked and hit with a hammer before the accused took R350 from his pocket and left.

“The victim sustained serious injuries all over his body,” said Maome.

Officers from the Primrose Police Station traced the man accused of the crime and he was arrested.

He was held at the station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
