Sector Two residents warned of danger

Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk members address increase in crime level in Sector Two by hosting educational crime awareness campaign.

Members of the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk (PCPYD) and officers from the Primrose Police Station recently took to the streets of Primrose Sector Two to encourage residents to stay safe.

This comes after police noticed an increase in robberies, vehicle theft, hijackings and house break-ins in the area.

The PCPYD engaged with Sunnyridge and Solheim residents, handing out safety pamphlets and warning the community about the crimes which have increased in the area.

“It is hoped that the awareness campaign will sensitise the community to the risks and help them to stay alert and aware,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Members of the PCPYD are, once again, appealing to community members between the ages of 15 and 35 years, with a passion for helping the community, to join the team.

PCPYD meetings are held every Monday evening, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Primrose Methodist Church in Primula Street.
