Call for Easter treats for St Giles

To brighten up Easter for residents of St Giles Association the community is asked to donate sweet treats.

After the success of their recent women’s-only fund-raiser for St Giles Association, Jenny Buchker and Desireé Hartslief have decided to adopt the home and are planning a number of special days for the residents.

The first of which is a special Easter.

“We want to visit the home for Easter, taking with us an assortment of sweet treats.

“We want to make sure the day is special for the residents, so that they know the world hasn’t forgotten them,” said Desireé.

For the day to be a success, they are collecting sweet treats and are appealing to the community to assist by donating to the cause.

“Residents can donate any sweet treats, from Easter eggs to cakes and tarts,” explained Desireé.

The cut-off date for donations is April 12, allowing the team time to prepare for the visit to the home.

Donations can be dropped off at 1 Lunar Lane, in Solheim, or alternately call Desireé on 084 036 2575, to make arrangements for collection.

“Other donations of second-hand clothes and goods or anything that will improve the lives of the residents are also welcome,” Desireé said.
