Joint operations nab 73 in Ekurhuleni West

The Ekurhuleni West Cluster police were out in full force last weekend.

Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS officers, EMPD members, security officers and CPF members held successful operations last weekend.

They held a number of operations, including stop-and-searches.

A total of 73 people were arrested on charges ranging from drunk in public, possession of house break-in implements, common robbery, business burglary, possession of drugs, theft general, contempt of court, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, intimidation, sexual assault and shoplifting to murder, fraud, armed robbery, business robbery, house robbery, car and truck hijacking, warrant of arrest, assault common, theft of motor vehicle, malicious damage to property, possession of dagga, attempted business break-in, business burglary, drunk and driving, drunk in public, attempted hijacking, dealing in liquor and reckless and negligent driving.

The various station commanders thanked everyone who contributed to the successes.

All the suspects were due to appear in the Germiston, Edenvale, Alberton and Palm Ridge magistrate’s courts, on Monday.
