The arrest was made after officers found a bottle in the woman’s handbag, containing a substance believed to be drugs.

The accused was arrested in the Primrose Police Station’s charge office, after police noticed that she was intoxicated.

“Officers heard a commotion in the charge office and when they went to investigate they found the suspect shouting at the charge officers.

“Noticing that she appeared to be intoxicated, they asked to search her and her bag and found what they believed to be drugs,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

She was detained at the station pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
