Community thanked for their support

Germiston Rotary Anns thrilled with support for the Glorious Gardens of Germiston open gardens weekend.

The Germiston Rotary Anns recently held a Glorious Gardens of Germiston open gardens weekend and couldn’t have been happier with the community’s response.

The Rotary Anns had hand-picked three beautiful gardens and invited the community to come and see just how stunning they really are.

“We thank everyone who attended our open gardens weekend, despite the weather not being perfect.

“We had wonderful support from our community and visitors from surrounding districts and the fund-raising weekend was a great success,” said Rotary Ann Margaret Atkins.

The Germiston Rotary Anns sent a special thanks to:

  • The Germiston Garden Club members who supported the project from the beginning, as well as being on hand to help man the gates of the various gardens.
  • The local CPFs who helped with security.
  • Students from Dinwiddie Primary School and Germiston High School for their help.
  • Sponsors Merv’s Hardware, JC Services, Camera Press and Academy Brushware.

“Our biggest thank you goes to the homeowners who opened their beautiful gardens for us to use and enjoy,” said Atkins

A raffle, for a wheelbarrow full of garden goodies, held over the weekend was won by Thelma Fonn.

The funds raised over the weekend will go towards on-going Germiston Rotary Anns projects.
