InCity secures Care Bear Gauteng

Security beefed up at Care Bear Gauteng Place of Safety.

InCity Security showed that they care about the community when they recently installed an alarm system at Care Bear Gauteng Place of Safety, in Elsburg.

Care Bear Gauteng is a home that cares for abused children.

The alarm system was installed free of charge.

“We installed a full alarm system for the safety of the children,” said InCity Security’s community and media liaison, Debbie Panaino-Potgieter.

“These children are placed in safety by welfare organisations due to abuse.”

InCity Security will also monitor the home at no cost.

“This is our donation to the home. We will monitor and respond to any incident at the home,” said general and operations manager, Steve Jansen.

“It is a house of safety and we have to ensure the children are safe at all times.”

Panaino-Potgieter said the community needs to know that there is a place of safety in the area.

“We would like people to get more involved in supporting the home,” she said.

“It is also important for the community to know that the home doesn’t have a drop-off system. It works with welfare organisations.”

The home currently houses six children.

InCity Security’s technician, Prosper Ngorima, was happy to install the alarm system at Care Bear Gauteng.

Zenobia Venter, the house mother at Care Bear Gauteng, said she is very appreciative of what InCity Security is doing for them.

“We appreciate the donation and know that it will help us a lot,” said Venter.

“The alarm system is not the only thing that Panaino-Potgieter and Jensen have helped us with.

“If it wasn’t for them, people wouldn’t know much about the home; through them we have people who support us and help with other needs.

“We have received baby formula, nappies and toys, among other things, from the community because of Panaino-Potgieter’s help.”

Panaino-Potgieter said her love for people is the one thing that motivates her to help wherever she can.

She also told the GCN that she gets support and advice from Jansen to help community members.

“InCity Security has always been a community project supporter and Panaino-Potgieter and I are passionate about helping our community,” said Jansen.

Panaino-Potgieter and Jansen said that they care and are willing to assist wherever they can.

Venter said the support from Panaino-Potgieter, Jansen and InCity has given her hope.

“I am very grateful to them. This actually shows me that there are people out there who really care,” she said.
